The mailing system allows to send letters and items between players in the game. To recieve items, a payment can be required from the reciever. This way, items can be traded without a vendor or an in-person trade. Handy if people are in different timezones.
The system can be used through a mailbox, placed in a players house.Tudor, stone or wooden mailbox are carpenter craftables and can also be bought from player vendors. Once placed, right-click and select “register mailbox”. Note: the mailbox is associated to the toon that registers it, other toons will not be able to use it.
On registering, you will be prompted to name your mailbox (will be used to make the mailbox findable by others) and set the privacy level. “Public” mailboxes will be listed. Private need the postal code to list them. And unlisted will not list at all, you can just use the postal code to directly write a letter.
The mailbox interface allows to search other mailboxes and create new letters. It will also show your favorite recievers and a list of the recent mailboxes that you interacted with. On the top you mailbox name (here “El Royale”), postalcode (here “P5TS4”) and location minoc is displayed.
A new letter can have title and text and up to three items that will be send alongside the letter. A plain letter is 100g and an extra fee of 300g will be added per item. Items can be dragged on one of the three slots. If you want to get some gold for the items, check “cash on delivery” and define the price. In this case, a reciever needs to pay the ammount in order to get the item from the letter. The sender will recieve the gold to his/her bank account. Recievers can return the letter back to the sender in which case the items is back as well. In any case the system allows for a safe trade.
When you recieve letters, there will appear as items in the mailbox. Pick them up and double-click to open/read.
This mail contained a thiefs coins as item (thanks, Balzor!), the item can be claimed without payment. Both functions “block sender” and “return to sender” will return the letter and item to the sender.
