Stealth allows a hidden character to move silently while maintaining invisibility. It is a viable skill for any rogue.
To perform Stealth:
- the character must have at least 30.0 Hiding skill
- enter the hidden state through Hiding. Successfully hiding is a prerequisite, as the concealing effects of Invisibility spell or potion are broken upon movement.
- activate Stealth by walking slowly (unmounted, of course). If successful, your character will remain hidden while moving slowly.
Note that any action that would reveal a hidden individual will also reveal the individual performing stealth.
- Wearing anything heavier than leather armor (> 10% Armor Penalty) will cause a penalty to stealth / increased chance to reveal (even at GM Stealth), with the chance to reveal increased based on the armor penalty of what you're wearing (see your paperdoll for armor penalty information)
- There is no penalty whatsoever for stealthing in cloth or leather.
Stealth does not gain in skill faster when wearing heavier armor or different sets of armor.
At GM Stealth, the character will never automatically break stealth with movement alone.
