Provocation is one of the several Bard skills available in Legends of Ultima. It is considered one of the most powerful skills in the game, as the master Bard can provoke creatures and monsters to fight one another.
Provocation requires Musicianship in order to successfully perform.
To use the Provocation skill, press K to open your skillbook and use the skill under Provocation. Alternately, right-click an instrument and select 'Provocation'. Then select the desired target you wish to provoke to fight another creature or monster. Upon a successful Provocation attempt, the creature first targeted will begin attacking your desired target. Beware, as an unsuccessful Provocation attempt will cause the creatures/monsters to seek a new target elsewhere....YOU!
Provocation skill gain is difficulty-based, in line with traditional UO and unlike Celador's old Provocation mechanics.
Tougher monsters/animals/NPCs must be provoked in order to gain provocation at higher skill levels.
This is a Provocation guide that is focused on creatures that are slow and do not cast spells and/or have abilities that can easily be avoided.
Due to how barding difficulty works, this guide can be followed for the other secondary bardic skills.
