To automatically organize your backpack, right-click on your character and choose “Organize Backpack”.
You can also purchase containers such as bags and pouches to collect specific types of items by right-clicking on them and selecting “Set Container Type”.
By setting the type to “Loot”, any loot automatically collected from corpses will be deposited in that container.
Did you know that we have the /targ command that will attempt to target nearest desired mobs? For example you can /targ monster and it will select the nearest monster to you as your current target; the options are: monster, enemy (crim players or monsters), friendly & pet
Not sure about how something works? Check the Shards of Britannia Wiki by typing /wiki in-game; add a keyword to it like /wiki house or /wiki inscription to do a fuzzy search.
If you plan on making a crafter as your first player and want to support the tool costs, you have 2 options: Either take 50 tinkering and mining, or take 50 mining and blacksmithing, tinkering will allow you make tools with less fails, but blacksmithing will allow needing less ingots to gm. (Mining will give you gems that you can sell for some money)
If you are a GM in Poisoning and Taste Identification, the following macro can make your life easier / safer:
Configure the above macro in such a way, that step 2. <Target Type> is linked to a poisoned meal.
Running this macro - each time the “Taste Identification” skill successfully detects the poison, you will loose 1 health:
You will get healed roughly every 20 seconds (no matter if you need it or not)
You break free from paralysis when loosing the 1 health (you might surprise a Player Killer, if you break free from their paralysis spell without making the typical “boom” sounds ;-) )
You immediately start bandaging each time the poison in the meal was detected.
With this script the “start of healing” is asynchronous to potential attacks (of monsters or players), so if an attack hits you, your asynchronously pre-started healing might kick in quite fast after receiving real damage.
In worst-case: This macro heals around as slow as a standartd healing macro
In best-case: This macro immediately heals you after real damage was received
The only drawback of this trick is, that you will roughly use up 3 bandages per minute as long as this macro is running.
FYI: Originally this was just my standard macro for bringing Taste Identification to GM level, but it also works quite well for tanking first hits.
Hit the “H” key, until the console tells “All Names: On”
Hit the “J” key, until the console tells “Health Bars: All”. With this, now you know the positions of players and NPCs and monsters inside houses / closed rooms.
You now see from the outside, how many enemies/monsters are behind closed doors.
For interaction with vendors you only need to get within 4 fields around a vendor, so you can just go close to a wall where you see the vendor's Health Bar and say something like “vendor sell” for selling your stuff to them (no need for opening any doors).
Buy a horse as soon as possible (the faster you go, the less time you loose, travelling ;)
Don't bind with horses - if they die, it is a lot cheaper to just buy a new horse than resurrecting a bound horse.
Training at Graveyards provides the same EXP bonus as training in dungeons.
If you have around 40K gold: Buy a small house - you can pack everything you need in there.
